Task scheduler mac .bat windows#
The task, configured for Windows 7, does function - though so far I haven't tested the feature yet to start if missed. I have tried defining the Task Scheduler trigger several ways:ĭisplays on Reflect's Scheduled Backups tab as:Įvery 4 hour(s) from 9:00 AM for 24 hour(s) every day, starting Įvery 4 hour(s) from 9:00 AM for -1 minutes every day, starting 2/20/16Įvery 4 hour(s) from 9:00 AM for -1 minutes on Īny idea what is happening, and is there a simple fix? One thing that is unusual about the resume of Windows is that the clock jumps - it freezes in time when OS X put the virtual machine process to sleep, and on resume the clock remains set to that time for a bit less than a minute, and then gets updated to the correct time.

So it's really unclear what process to credit for launching some of these missed tasks, and why it only does it for some of them. The feature to run tasks if they are missed is not available in Task Scheduler for tasks defined for "Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000", so it seems it must be ReflectService.exe that is responsible for launching the missed tasks? I have "If missed then run at next start-up" selected in the Reflect schedules, though that states only that the tasks will be executed "at next start-up", and this resumption of Windows is not a start-up. Reflect "shows" the modified schedule on the Scheduled Backup tab, and normally these "extra" 4-hour backups do execute.īut these extra tasks do not execute if they are missed. To get that frequent schedule, I created the task through Reflect, then modified the Trigger in Task Scheduler. I have also set up a schedule to run the same file backup vbscript (using the same xml) for incrementals every 4 hours.
Task scheduler mac .bat full#
One of these is a vbscript for images once daily the other is a vbscript for full file backup that runs on Mon, Wed and Fri. Missed image and file backup tasks that I scheduled entirely through Reflect's scheduling will execute shortly after Windows resumption. Since I have hacked the task scheduling, I realize what I'm doing is not technically supported, but I am interested in understanding what may be going wrong and if it is something I can easily fix. I'm finding inconsistent running of missed Reflect tasks when my system does resume.

Scheduled tasks in Windows do not wake the Mac from sleep, as they do (or can do) on a PC.

My system is a Windows 7 virtual machine running on a Mac.
